Mark your calendar for Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, as the Slave Lake & Area Mental Health Network hosts the 3rd Annual Men’s Mental Health Forum: Building Resilience, Strengthening Connections, featuring keynote speaker Tyler Smith, Mental Health Advocate and Survivor of the 2018 Humboldt Broncos Bus Crash.

This free community event aims to strengthen connections, build resilience, and create a supportive environment where men feel encouraged to speak openly about mental health.

Mental health challenges can affect anyone, yet many men still feel pressure to manage stress, trauma, and personal struggles on their own. This forum will bring people together to hear powerful personal experiences, learn practical strategies, and discover resources that support mental and emotional well-being.

Whether you are navigating your own challenges, supporting a family member, friend, employee, or colleague, or simply interested in learning more about mental health, everyone is welcome to attend.

Building a Stronger and More Supportive Community

Mental health thrives when people feel connected, understood, and supported. The Men’s Mental Health Forum is an opportunity to start meaningful conversations, reduce stigma, strengthen community connections, and remind those who may be struggling that they do not have to face their challenges alone.

Come hear inspiring stories, learn practical strategies, connect with community resources, and be part of an important conversation about men’s mental health.

Drawing from his personal experiences with trauma, PTSD, recovery, and overcoming adversity, Tyler will share meaningful insights and practical strategies for recognizing burnout, developing healthy habits, and prioritizing well-being in demanding environments.

Thriving Together: Strategies for Mental Health, Balance, and Resilience

His presentation will explore the importance of addressing trauma, setting healthy boundaries, managing stress, and creating sustainable routines that support both personal fulfillment and professional success.

Tyler will also share guidance on how to compassionately support someone who may be struggling, including how to listen, respond, and help create an environment where people feel safe, respected, and supported.

Attendees will leave with practical tools, renewed inspiration, and a greater understanding of how we can work together to prioritize mental health, prevent burnout, and build stronger foundations for long-term resilience.
