Mark your calendars for Friday, November 14, 6:00–8:30 PM as the Slave Lake & Area Mental Health Network hosts the 2nd Annual Men’s Mental Health Forum: Real Talk. Real Tools., featuring keynote speaker Allan Kehler.

This community gathering—presented in collaboration with Men’s Shed Alberta, Alberta Health Services, the Rotary Club of Slave Lake Public Library, FCSS Slave Lake, ATCO Energy Systems, and Community Futures—focuses on mental health with a special emphasis on men’s wellness.

Feedback from our 2024 forum was clear: men in our region want more than awareness—they’re seeking practical solutions, year-round connection, and a place to belong. We’re building on that momentum with a 1-hour interactive keynote from Allan packed with tools for managing anxiety, depression, and emotional resilience—usable at work, at home, and in the community.

We’ll also welcome the Alberta Men’s Shed Association to introduce the Men’s Shed model and support local planning for a Shed in our region, creating a non-clinical, community-driven space where men can connect, share skills, reduce isolation, and thrive.

The forum is open to all genders to foster inclusive, supportive conversations around mental health.

Join us for real talk, real tools, and the first steps toward a Men’s Shed in the Slave Lake area.
