Owned and operated by Lyzza Martus, the business specializes in full interior vehicle cleaning and detailing. What started as a small side hustle has steadily grown into a trusted local service through word of mouth and repeat customers.

Martus said the idea for the business came while she was working full-time at a local car wash. When interior detailing services were no longer being offered there, many customers were left searching for someone who could properly clean and restore their vehicles.

Recognizing that need, she decided to step in and offer interior detailing services independently.

“I’ve always enjoyed seeing the transformation of a vehicle after a proper detail,” she shared. “I wanted to provide a service that helps people feel good about their vehicles again.”

What started with a few customers quickly expanded through word of mouth and repeat business — something she says she remains incredibly grateful for today. Her natural eye for cleanliness and detail had long been noticed by those around her.

“My daughter used to joke that my ‘OCD cleaning’ would turn into a business someday,” she said. “She ended up being right.”

She also credits a simple but powerful piece of advice from a friend for helping him get started.

“Someone told me, ‘You’ve got to start somewhere.’ That stayed with me and gave me the confidence to stop overthinking and just begin.”

Focused on Full Interior Detailing and Cleaning

Unlike many detailing companies, Martus Cleaning & Detailing Services focuses entirely on full interior detailing rather than offering quick cleanups or basic packages. Martus said every vehicle receives the same level of care and attention, whether it is a family SUV, work truck, tractor, or semi tractor. The business has become known for tackling difficult cleaning jobs, including vehicles with years of dirt, grease, mud, pet hair, and debris built up inside.

“People are often surprised by the difference afterward,” she said. “A lot of customers don’t think their vehicle can look clean again until they see the final result.”

In addition to vehicle detailing, Martus also provides house cleaning services for a small group of long-term clients, including move-out cleans and deep cleaning services.

Built on Honesty and Fairness

Honesty and fairness remain important values for the business. Martus believes in transparent pricing and treating every customer with respect.

“If a vehicle isn’t heavily dirty, I don’t believe in overcharging people,” she said. “I still do the full detail because every customer deserves quality service.”

Much of the company’s growth has come through referrals and returning customers — something Martus says means a great deal to her.

“Most of my business comes from word of mouth,” she said. “That tells me people trust my work, and I’m very thankful for that support.”

For those thinking about starting a business of their own, Martus encourages people to begin with something they truly enjoy.

“You don’t need to start big,” she said. “Even a small side hustle can grow into something successful with consistency, hard work, and good customer service.”

When asked what advice she would give to fellow entrepreneurs, Martus said she strongly believes in supporting local businesses.

“Stay humble, focus on your work, and support other local businesses whenever you can,” she said. “A good reputation built on honesty and reliability will take you far.”

Martus Cleaning & Detailing Services continues to serve as an example of how local entrepreneurs help strengthen rural communities by identifying needs, providing dependable service, and building trusted relationships one customer at a time.
